Rehab Bar and Nightclub (later known as Flow Nightclub) was a popular bar centred in Tauranga’s vibrant CBD. Between 2014 and 2015, Mint and Honey (formerly operating as Victoria Leigh Photography) served as the resident in-house photographer and social media manager. The primary goal during this time was to capture weekend activities held at the venue and occasional special events, and then share this content to social media to grow Rehab’s online presence.

Mint and Honey played a pivotal role in promoting Rehab Bar and Nightclub as a vibrant feature of Tauranga’s nightlife scene, while showcasing the diverse range of events hosted at the venue.

Through delivering professional, high-quality event photography services with a quick turnaround, highlights from Rehab’s regular Saturday nights and special events were captured and shared across its online channels. The widely shared visual content generated high levels of online engagement, driving further interest and increased patronage, enhancing the venue’s overall reputation and brand image.

As the in-house resident photographer for Rehab Bar and Nightclub, Mint and Honey captured the vibrant activities of the venue every Saturday night. The role also involved covering regular events hosted at Rehab, such as the official One Love after parties, special product launches, and performances by special artists and guest DJs.

Additionally, Mint and Honey provided services to the neighbouring bar, Platinum Lounge (later known as Groove). Both venues had varying styles, aesthetics, and patron demographics, requiring tailored photography approaches. This responsibility demanded adaptability to different lighting conditions, venue styles, and crowd dynamics while maintaining a cohesive brand image across both locations.

In addition to regular in-house coverage, Mint and Honey photographed special events at Rehab Bar and Nightclub and neighbouring venues, including in-house competitions and themed nights. Highlights from this work included bikini model search events, dance battles, and MC competitions. These special occasions required a keen eye for dynamic moments that showcased both the performers and audience participation.

To ensure rapid turnaround for event images, with all photos uploaded to Rehab’s Facebook page within 48 hours. This quick delivery maximised the relevance of the content and encouraged immediate engagement from patrons. Additionally, Mint and Honey moderated the venue’s Facebook page, actively monitoring comments on photos and quickly remedying content removal requests.

The collaboration between Mint and Honey and Rehab Bar and Nightclub resulted in a stronger social media presence for the bar and greater patron engagement. The rapid turnaround of event photos not only boosted online engagement but also contributed to increased attendance at subsequent events. Throughout Mint and Honey’s engagement with Rehab, the venue’s social media audience grew substantially from >1k to over 4k., establishing a foundation for long-term marketing success.
